The yoga classes and workshops offered through Lighthouse Healing are designed to help people experience the Lighthouse Model in practice. Through movement, mindfulness, reflection, and conversation, participants have opportunities to build a stronger relationship with themselves by cultivating awareness, understanding, self-trust, and intentional choice.
Whether you're joining a weekly class, attending a workshop, or participating in a community event, the intention remains the same: creating experiences that help people reconnect with themselves and carry those practices into everyday life.
Understanding the Lighthouse Model is one thing. Applying it is another.
Yoga creates opportunities to practice the framework through direct experience. Rather than simply talking about awareness, understanding, self-trust, and choice, the practice invites you to experience them in real time.
Throughout class, the continual practice of orienting, noticing, connecting, and choosing helps strengthen the skills that support more intentional choices both on and off the mat.
Return to the present moment.
Orientation is the practice of reconnecting with yourself throughout the experience. Again and again, attention returns to the body, the breath, and the present moment before responding with intention.
What am I noticing right now?
Movement reveals more than physical sensations. It often brings thoughts, emotions, judgments, and urges into awareness. Rather than automatically reacting, the practice becomes noticing.
Can I stay with this for one more breath?
Instead of immediately escaping discomfort or following an urge, there is an opportunity to breathe, listen, and become curious about what your experience may be communicating.
What feels most supportive right now?
Every transition becomes an opportunity to practice intentional choice. Staying for one more breath. Modifying instead of pushing. Resting instead of performing. These repeated moments begin strengthening the pathways that support intentional choices beyond the mat.
Every experience offered through Lighthouse Healing is grounded in the same intention: helping people build a stronger relationship with themselves through awareness, understanding, self-trust, and intentional choice.
While each class, workshop, or event has its own focus, they draw from the same core elements. Movement creates opportunities to experience the body with greater awareness. Guided meditation creates space to slow down and connect with your inner experience. Practical knowledge helps make sense of what you notice and supports more intentional choices in everyday life.
No prior yoga or meditation experience is required unless otherwise noted. Come as you are.
Experience the Lighthouse Model through mindful movement, breath, and intentional practice. Classes may include Slow Flow, Vinyasa, Foundations, Stretch & Restore, and other movement-based experiences.
Create space for rest, reflection, and deeper connection through guided practices. Experiences may include Yoga Nidra, body scans, guided imagery, mindfulness, and breath awareness.
Build understanding through practical, accessible education that helps make sense of your inner experience. Topics may include the nervous system awareness, emotional regulation, awareness, and intentional choice.

One example of this work is an ongoing program offered through the Metropolitan Community College Reentry Program.
Participants come from different backgrounds and life experiences, but many of the themes we explore are deeply human. Building awareness. Understanding patterns. Recognizing needs. Learning to respond with greater intention instead of reacting automatically.
Each session weaves together movement, guided meditation, breathwork, practical knowledge, reflection, discussion, and everyday life skills to create opportunities for participants to better understand themselves and strengthen the relationship they have with themselves.
What I appreciate most about this program is the reminder that, despite our different stories, many of us are learning the same skills.
Learning to notice what we feel.
Learning to understand what we need.
Learning to respond instead of react.
Learning to build a stronger relationship with ourselves.
The setting may change, but the work often remains the same. Whether in a yoga class, workshop, community program, or other partnership, the goal is to create experiences that help people better understand themselves and carry those skills into everyday life.
